I want to create an interactive DVD that would combine different file formats such as video, flash, pdf files etc...

..also if i am going to be there for hours i want to be able to smoke and the grove is open air...
On a sidenote, I'm just asking as a courtesy, if you do plan on smoking to either step out of line or ask people around you first. I'm not going to the grove or anything, but I have waited in lines outdoors for events where it wasn't easy to just move/leave but standing where I can smell the smoke from someone smoking nearby is absolutely unbearable.

The Xbox doesn't upscale DVDs over component. Here's a good FAQ on the issue, http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=477767 . I does do it over VGA, though.
I don't know how accurate this is, I'm not saying that its upscaling the DVDs but I am getting 1080p thru component. My TV will show me the resolution at the press of a button and when it changes. The Xbox is 1080p and when I place a DVD in the drive and play it, it does not (any longer) change down to 480p.

Seems like a pretty good choice. I didn't realize anything was beating the Vertexes, although it's been about a year since I went shopping. (The IBM's were always a little faster, but a lot more dollars as well.)

1. It's because you're mirroring. Mirroring limits the resolution to the native res of the lower res display. Unchecking that will allow you to use the native res of the monitor, and you get the functionality of dual screens as well.
2. Drag the bottom right corner to make it full screen. That should make it so that the green button maximizes a small window in that app.

Hi Everyone:
I've come back to the mac world. I've been away ever since my apple G3 was stolen. Now, I bought an apple I3 IMac 27". Hummm, I still miss my G3. Anyways, let's get to the problem.
In these threads, everyone is having problems with their IMac's not sleeping in Windows 7. Well not me. For me, my IMac is not sleeping in OS X [10.6.7]. I thought there was a hardware issue. Just to make sure it was not, I erased the hard drive and reinstalled the OS. Then, it was fine for awhile until I started installing software. The last thing I installed was skype in OS. And now it does not go to sleep in OS. Why doesn't my IMac fall asleep on its own in OS X? Could it be boot camp? Or, could it be skype? And yes, I reset the PRAM and followed the directions on the apple web-site and I even called apple care but, to no avail. I should have bought a Windows machine!
Just kidding....
Can someone help me please? If it's a skype issue then, I understand. But, why on earth would skype prevent my IMac from sleeping even when it is closed. It just doesn't make any sense for the programmers to have skype conflict with OSX 10.6.7; they would have resolved these types of conflicts by now.

That's sweet! How secure are those latches? I'd be worried about it coming open and dumping the MBP, which would make me cry.

Like I said, unfortunately it may not be isolated to DP2 ... which is more annoying since that means it's probably an iTunes/iOS bug :(
Oh my bad, I thought it was only happening on your 10.7 machine. If it is happening on your other machines I would think an iTunes bug.

It's all going to be crowded, even KOP. Look at KOP on a normal day, and i dont know if any of you saw KOP on the iPhone launch. Just cuz its in a mall doesnt mean it will be any less crowded.

You could probably take what you need scanned to a service bereau, they'd probably do a better job than anything the average home user would. Just make sure they're reputable and use equipment that's better han what they use at walgreens :p

The iMac is a better buy if you are intending to replace your keyboard and considering upgrading your monitor.

My friend texted me asking if I wanted an old iMac for free, I obviously said yes. It is a snow 600MHz iMac G3 with 512MB of RAM, 40GB HD, and it works wonderfully. I'm currently looking for my 10.4 disks and going to install Tiger on it. Can't wait.

Good thread, I'm also fairly obsessed with tagging and artwork :D
Mine are sorted into 5 genres and then use groupings as a kind of sub genre.
Anything that has a featured artist is put into the comments field (I think it looks so much cleaner than if it's "Song Name (Ft. Some Artist)")
All Bonus Tracks, B-Sides and Music Videos are set to Disc 2 and have no track number and are unchecked so they don't carry on playing once the album is finished. They also have comments saying which single the B-Side came from etc.
As much as I love iTunes I find it quite frustrating as it could be so much better. I'd love to be able to tag each song with multiple genres, as you said it can be hard to lump them into one category. And I wish you could "tag" a song with a music video, so instead of having two entries for "The Dead Dog", you'd just have the song within the album and have the little video icon on the right, which you'd click if you want to watch the video (if that makes sense!) :D
And while I'm at it... year, record label, and country of origin in the album artwork column please :P

Maybe I'm getting old, but there doesn't seem to be any right now. :( All of the games I find interesting are being funneled/gimped to the 360, or the promising ones have been blah in general. The only game that my PC buddies got into, which I didn't for obvious reasons, was WoW, which of course is cross platform. Now that's all some of them play. :confused:

The Apple symbols that you're able to see are just GIF images (one of the smilies provided by this message board is an Apple logo.) You can see this one (:apple:), because it's just an image. But you can only see this one () if you have the necessary fonts installed, which all iOS devices and Macs should.
I'm running Leopard on my MDD using Firefox. My windows pc doesn't display it either, and it doesn't display if I switch to 9.2 on my MDD either.

Also of note with the Dension solution if you get a new car down the road and want to move it to the new car, it will only work if the new car is the same make as your current car (i.e. Honda to Honda not Honda to BMW) which sucks because they should just make it so you can just swap cable connecting the ICE Link to the car's headunit. Oh well I guess I'll see what the iCruze has to offer when it comes out.
This is not true. the ICE works with several after-market brands like Sony, Kenwood, Alpine, etc. If you had one of these in your car, and got a new one, you would merely have to move the radio to the new car.

My insurance guy told me the single most common reason claims like these get denied is not having commercial coverage for commerce related claims.
IOW, if your gear gets stolen doing a wedding shoot and you have stock homeowners' coverage, don't count on them cutting you a check.
