I've always heard the 6pin variant referred to as FW600 while FW400 was reserved only for the mini 4pin which doesn't have power. I realize it may not be technically correct but it's always allowed easier differentiation between the two connectors.
I've always heard of the 4-pin being referred to as iLink on Sony devices or mini firewire everywhere else.
I thought FW400 and 800 refer to the speed, so 600 makes no sense to me at all.

Interesting, very interesting! Let's hope they also will bring out a version for the G5's. Also the folding on GPU's is coming quite well. Let's hope our electric bills don't go up when you have a dual/quad folding and two X1900 in SLI mode! :D
BTW Macaholic, how did you get sooooo much folding power?!? And are you folding for Team MR?!?

The direct port of these batch files to bash scripts would be, respectively:
export CLASSPATH=RemoteShell.jar
java RemoteShellServer $1 $2
export CLASSPATH=RemoteShell.jar
java RemoteShellClient $1 $2 $3 $4
javac -g:none *.java
jar cvf RemoteShell.jar *.class
But you seem to be by-passing them by using java RemoteShellClient directly from the command line. So I don't think they're the cause of your error.
According to JavaClient.bat (now the JavaClient bash script), RemoteShellClient expects 4 arguments. From the look of the command your trying to use, these arguments are: 1) the IP address of the remote computer, 2) the port of the remote computer, 3) the command to run on the remote computer, 4) the arguments to be passed to the remote command. The remote command and argument suggests that the remote computer is running Windows. Is that the case?
Do you know where the error is coming from? I've not seen bash output this error, so I doubt it's coming from there. Is there other output to suggest it's coming from RemoteShellClient, or from the remote computer?

No, you can't "force" such a thing. No one knows for certain when Lion will be released. Note that there is a Lion forum (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=152), where answers to your Lion-related questions will be found.

Ugly anyways and I think he did them a favor...
Yea I agree. I don't know what the big deal is. It's really just an old house that a famousish person designed and another one lived in. Its like it was a frank lloyd wright or something.

or they have hacked someone's account so that they appear to be a reputable seller.
This cannot be legit. $2200 for a 17" PB and a 23" display? That's gotta be below cost.
One sure test is to ask them to use escrow with a service of YOUR choice. (escrow.com maybe?) Any legit seller would understand why you felt this was necessary. the ones who are trying to scam you will have a million excuses why this will not work ("it's against company policy," "I need the money fast," "I can only use this one certain escrow service...")
let me repeat, this CANNOT be legit. Only the 17" PB for that price has gotta be close to what wholesellers pay, if not lower. Plus you get a $2000 display for free? If it were a legit seller they could easily unload the whole package for twice that and have a very happy customer.

I setup Time Capsule & Time Machine & it did a backup of my iMac. However, I don't think it did a backup of the Windows virtual machine on the iMac.
How do I setup the Time Capsule/Time Machine to backup the iMac & Windows virtual machine, & setup a separate partition for file sharing amongst the iMac, Macbook Pro, & Window virtual machine?
I'm new to the use of Time Capsule & Time Machine, so I hope I worded my question properly, & what I want to do makes sense.

Some of my favs...
Super Stardust HD
PixelJunk Monsters
PixelJunk Eden
PixelJunk Shooter
Echochrome
Super Stardust is a twin-stick shooter that is a ton of fun and quite easy to learn. I really enjoy the PixelJunk games. Shooter is probably the best one, but it is a bit short. Eden is fun, but the difficulty ramps up to just BRUTAL levels. Monsters is great if you like "Tower Defense" games. Echocrome is a really neat puzzle game.

You know, after 16 years on the Internet you'd think I'd know how to find ***** by now.
Thanks much. No idea why I only looked on eBay and Craigslist.
If only they made a website where I could search a whole BUNCH of websites at once. Hmmmmmmmm......

I'm wondering if anyone here has abandoned a point and shoot camera for their iPhone camera? Is it good enough to replace the average digital camera yet (obviously not professional grade cameras?
All the rumours about the iPhone 5 having an 8MP camera have me curious how good the iPhone 4 camera actually is? My 3GS is decent for quick snaps of things here and there but still awful compared to even a budget point and shoot camera.
On a side note, has anyone used those telescopic lenses for the iPhone, and if so, what were the results like?

Was just wondering if that means it is already featured-locked.
As it is just a Developer Preview (version 2), it is far too early to tell.

Guess I should update my 1.0 version.
You should. There're only security updates and minor bug-fixes in 1.0.1 and 1.0.2, but security updates are a good thing. ;) Also, even if you have searchplugins, the upgrade is very painless. And if you don't, then it's just drag and drop! :)

I've had mine for a few weeks now and it's wonderful. All the apple stores in my area had ones with the pink cast so I was a little nervous but it looks amazing.

That's sweet! How secure are those latches? I'd be worried about it coming open and dumping the MBP, which would make me cry.
I'm also curious with what you've lined the inside to protect the MBP.
The latches are very secure, i tested it dropping it 3 meters form the stairs. The inside has a lining of small strips of rubber covered with velvet
Nice! Was it hard to make? Do you have any fillings in there? If it's even a bit loose, it may sway while carrying it and wood is pretty tough so it could get dents or scratches.
It has a filling of rubber and velvet so it's very secure, it is made out of 100% wood ((http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebrawood)) I have also made some of other woods.
As with all kind of woods (and other materials) if you bumb it hard enough it will get scratched.
right now i am making a suitcase from ebony wood with a solid silver apple logo (for personal use ofcours), here are some pictures of one case and the ebony case being build
