Since both drives are internal, you can indeed dedicate one drive to Windows.
If you plan on using it frequently and feel like opening it, you can upgrade the ram and stick an ssd in for a significant boost in responsiveness.
Other than that, you could put Plex on it to replace the AppleTV, or use it as a file/webserver, etc.

keith is probably right re: dv import, i don't use imovie so i don't know (thus the version history link). There shouldn't be any qualitative difference btwn DV files imported on older / newer machines and the import from tape is in real-time, so an old machine will crank away just as well as anything. The new machine will make a big difference when actually transcoding, editing, and exporting.

i am visiting apps that i bought via itunes and there is no any info there that i bought or not. So, if i format or change my mac then can i restore with that backed up folder?
There isn't really an indication on the iPhone or iTunes App Store, but if you click Buy, it will tell you that you already paid for this app and starts to download for free.

Try resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM:

Premiere will use the other cores, but for me i'd rather 4/6 cores with a higher clock speed and the matrox compressHD card, than a more expensive 8/12 core machine, with lower clock speed and no budget left for the compress card.
I understand. I'm honestly thinking of purchasing an iMac (after the refresh). I'll add the maximum amount of Ram (or atleast 16GB) and get the best processor from the Apple Website. I think that will be the best option for me. If I become unhappy, I'll sell my iMac or return it within the 30 Day Mark.

I'll be at the Palo Alto Store by about 2PM with my copy from a nearby college bookstore that I'm getting for $69 before 2PM. That should put me near the front of the queue.
I don't know what you mean here. You're going to the Apple store with a copy of Leopard you already bought? Or do you mean you'll be near the front of the queue of people who will have the item in hand?
Pretty sure you have to buy a $129 copy to get the T-Shirt.
Well it does say on Apple's website that the "first 500 guests" will receive the T-shirt, and says nothing about requiring a purchase. Though, if MacMall doesn't ship it out on Thursday, I'll be cancelling the order with them and going to the store to buy it anyway. And if they do, I would still consider going to the store, and buying it and returning it just for the T-shirt. I'm a geek like that. ;)

love the slider's look, feel, and protection but hate the weight it adds and that its not the easiest of cases to slide in and out of my pocket.

How do you use the knife part, and how does it not slice your mouth open?
I suppose the knife part is on the side and I guess you just have to be careful not to cut the side of your mouth open. I doubt its that sharp tho. I'm yet to use or to find one of these in the wild.

If I can't get the upgrade I'm just going to buy an external HD and make it a network drive.That would work quite well. If you don't mind a non-portable drive (and it sounds like you don't), you'll get a lot more for your money (vs a portable drive).

The second plan probably would work, but you'll have two separate wireless networks.
If you go the second route, I'd just disable wireless on the Linksys and let the Expresses handle wireless.
Thanks, and yes, using the sole Airport as only Wifi provider (along with the second Airport, of course) was the plan and leave the linksys only for wired ethernet routing.

This makes a lot of sense. I suspect we may see this transition far faster than we think. What if Apple were to announce an AMD powered Power Mac at MWSF? From a software standpoint it seems almost unthinkable, but if they've found some way to do it with a minimal impact..... hmmm....

I have an old LC 575 that I'm using for mostly playing games and some word processing, no internet, though. I'm wondering if I should upgrade from 7.5.5 to 7.6 or from 7.5.5 to 8.0. I'm probably going to pick up 32mb of RAM soon, so I'm ready for any OS to be on it.

Thanks, I used an intel mac in target mode and it worked great. Now if I could only figure out which version of itunes will run on this imac..... but maybe thats another thread.
